Leverkusen, Germany – Specialty chemicals company Lanxess will increase its prices for Durethan Compounds in Europe, the Middle East and Africa with effect from March 1, 2013. This measure is resulting from the continuing pressure on the material cost base.
The increase for Durethan A (Polyamide 6.6) is EUR 0.15/kg and for Durethan B (Polyamide 6) is EUR 0.25/kg. Existing contracts will be honored. Polyamides are partially crystalline plastics which offer an ideal combination of properties especially for technical applications.
They combine a high mechanical strength and stiffness with good electrical insulation properties, a high resistance to heat and chemicals, low friction, good emergency running properties, wear resistance and the attenuation of noise and vibration, plus outstanding ease of processing.
