TOKYO (Reuters) – Natsuo Yamaguchi, leader of the junior partner of Japan’s ruling coalition, said on Thursday there was no word from premier Shinzo Abe on whom the government would nominate as the next Bank of Japan governor.
Yamaguchi made the comment to reporters after a meeting between the government and ruling coalition executives, where he and Abe met.
A source has told Reuters the government is likely to nominate BOJ Governor Haruhiko Kuroda for another five-year term after the current one ends in April.
