WASHINGTON: Wall Street started the week lower on Monday, with the benchmark Dow Jones Industrial Average falling for the fifth straight day as President Donald Trump ratcheted up fears of a trade war.
The Dow was down 0.5 percent at the open, falling more than 100 points from Friday’s close to 24,424.07.
The broader S&P 500 was likewise down 0.5 percent at 2,678.48 while the Nasdaq gave up 0.4 percent to 7,232.55.
