HANOI, April 3 (Xinhua) — Vietnam exported 275,000 tons of rubber worth 408 million U.S. dollars in the first quarter of this year, up 10.5 percent in volume and down 19.8 percent in value against the same period last year.
China remained Vietnam’s biggest rubber export market in the three-month period, but both the volume and value of Vietnamese rubber shipped to the Chinese market declined, according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade on Tuesday.
Vietnam’s other big rubber export markets included India, Malaysia, Germany, South Korea and the United States.
Vietnam exported nearly 1.4 million tons of rubber valued at roughly 2.3 billion U.S. dollars in 2017, posting respective year-on-year increases of 11.4 percent and 36 percent.
