Hong Kong: Hong Kong stocks started the week with gains on Monday following a surge on Wall Street, while energy firms rallied on the back of fresh increases in oil prices.
The Hang Seng Index added 0.23 percent or 67.76 points to close at 29,994.26.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index climbed 1.48 percent, or 45.61 points, to 3,136.64 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, jumped 1.85 percent, or 33.11 points, to 1,822.18.
