By Supunnabul Suwannakij April 11 — Rubber prices should average $2.6- $2.8 a kg, Vietnam Rubber Association says.

* Vietnam’s production may climb 4.2% to 900,000 tons this year
* Exports may total 1m tons, unchanged vs last year
* Imports may reach 250,000 tons vs 302,050 tons last year
* Local demand may grow 8%-10% from this year to 2020
* Vietnam targets to double local consumption to 300,000 tons by 2020
* Vietnam targets to boost production to around 1.2-1.4m tons by 2020
* NOTE: Vietnam is the world’s fourth largest rubber exporter.
