TORONTO: Canada’s main stock index opened lower on Friday, pressured by losses in financial and industrial stocks, as President Donald Trump threatened tariffs on all $500 billion of Chinese imports into the United States.
At 9:30 a.m. ET (1330 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX Composite index was down 57.05 points, or 0.34 percent, at 16,485.96.
