Malaysian rubber prices closed higher today on positive sentiment ahead of the national-level meeting in Thailand
today to discuss support measures for rubber prices.
A dealer said the Kuala Lumpur rubber market saw an upsurge in its prices in line with the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) and other regional markets.
The dealer said the TOCOM market rose due to continued weakening of the yen against the US dollar.
The Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 rose 12.5 sen to 737 sen a kg at noon, while latex-in-bulk increased 5.5 sen to 577.5 sen a kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 gained eight sen to 740.5 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk improved six sen to 581.5 sen a kg.– Bernama
