‘It will provide job opportunities to rural youth and turn the place into a commercial centre’
Nalin Kumar Kateel, Member of Parliament, has appealed to Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, to set up a rubber industry unit in Belthangady.
Mr. Kateel met the Minister in Delhi on Wednesday and submitted a memorandum on the matter, a release from the office of the MP said.
He said that Belthangady has road connectivity to Udupi, Chikkamagaluru and other parts of Dakshina Kannada district, and serves as a central town to the three districts which grew rubber.
“If the industry comes up, it will provide employment opportunities for many rural youth. In addition, Belthangady will also emerge as a commercial centre,” the release said.
