HAMBURG: Jordan’s main state grains buyer has again issued an international tender to purchase 120,000 tonnes of hard milling wheat, European traders said on Monday.
The tender closes on Aug. 15.
Shipment is sought in various combinations of 50,000 tonne consignments between Oct. 16 and Nov. 30.
Jordan has had difficulty making purchases in a series of grain tenders in recent months, with traders saying uncertainty about quality specifications and payment terms has reduced participation by major grain exporting houses
But recent tenders have been more successful.
Jordan bought 60,000 tonnes in its last wheat tender on Aug. 9 although only three trading companies took part.
Jordan also bought 60,000 tonnes in a wheat tender on Aug. 2 although only two trading companies participated.
