BUDAPEST: Hungary’s central bank has decided to boost the size of its gold reserves to 31.5 tonnes, ten times the former amount, Governor Gyorgy Matolcsy told a news conference on Tuesday.
“We consider this a significant step in our economic history,” Matolcsy said, adding that the gold had already arrived in Hungary. “Apart from the investment, this will provide safety and lower risk to Hungary.”
