KOTTAYAM, MAY 24:
Spot rubber declined on Friday.
The market lost ground mainly on buyer resistance though traders seemed to be extremely cautious prior to the arrival of South-West monsoon.
Sheet rubber weakened to Rs 170 a kg at Kottayam and Kochi from Rs 171.50 and Rs 171 respectively, according to traders and the Rubber Board. The trend was partially mixed.
June futures inched up to Rs 168.99 (Rs 168.71); July to Rs 168.10 (Rs 167.80); August to Rs 166.50 (Rs 165.79); September to Rs 164.50 (Rs 163.42) while October dropped to Rs 162.99 (Rs 164.97) on the National Multi Commodity Exchange .
The May futures for RSS 3 declined to ¥ 263.2 (Rs 144.68) on Tokyo Commodity Exchange
Spot rubber rates Rs/ kg were: RSS-4: 170 (171.50); RSS-5: 167 (168); Ungraded: 160 (161); ISNR 20: 162 (162); and Latex 60 per cent: 109 (110).
