PARIS: European Union soft wheat exports in the 2018/19 season that started on July 1 had reached 5.2 million tonnes by Oct. 28, down 24 percent from 6.8 million tonnes by the same stage last season, official data from the European Commission showed on Monday.
* EU 2018/19 barley exports had reached 1.75 million tonnes, down 5 percent compared with a year-earlier 1.85 million tonnes, the data showed.
* EU 2018/19 maize imports stood at 5.6 million tonnes, up 14 percent from 4.9 million tonnes a year earlier.
