Singapore — Major Chinese benzene producer China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, or Sinopec, has lowered its domestic benzene price by Yuan 200/mt, a company source said Thursday. The listed price in East China is now Yuan 6,500/mt ex-tank, equivalent to around $788.79/mt on an import parity basis with an exchange rate of 6.9646, down from Yuan 6,700/mt previously.
Benzene was assessed at $770/mt CFR China on Wednesday, unchanged on the day but lower by $96.50/mt on the month, S&P Global Platts data showed.
