ALOR SETAR, May 29 (Bernama) — Setting up a “Rubber City” in Kota Putra, Padang Terap through the Barisan Nasional undertaking can draw the young generations’ interest toward the agricultural and industrial sectors.
State Information, Rural Development and Poverty Eradication Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Tajudin Abdullah said the approach would enable the young generation to continue the pursuits of their parents in farming using high technology to boost national productivity.
He said the young must make full use of the opportunity as Kedah was the biggest contributor of rubber nationwide with 85,000 hectares under rubber.
“The young generation must not miss out on the opportunity by supporting the proposal. It will not only be capable of developing the state but also its surrounding areas including the people.
“Numerous upstream and downstream industries will also expand and simultaneously develop the Rubber City area like the Kulim Hi-Tech,” he told reporters after opening a function, near here, Wednesday.
