The Malaysian rubber market closed higher today amid stronger Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) market with its November
contracts up 3.6 yen a kg to 238.9 yen.
However, the local market was relatively quiet as most buyers stayed on the sidelines hoping for the prices would be reduced a little bit, a dealer said.
On the local front, the Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR20 rose 10 sen to 725.5 sen per kg while latex-in-bulk added two sen to 0.5 sen per kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR20 increased six sen to 726.0 sen per kg and latex-in-bulk went up 1.5 sen to 542.5 sen per kg.– Bernama
