The South Korean tyre manufacturer Kumho has joined forces with Europe’s leading tyre logistics company Fiege to open a major new warehouse facility in Germany.
Located adjacent to the harbour in Hamburg, it will ultimately allow Kumho to supply stock to the majority of German tyre dealers within just 24 hours, and will also cater for the needs of some Kumho outlets in Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg and Austria. The arrangement means that Fiege Logistics will be responsible for all the warehouse processes, plus all aspects of tyre handling from the arrival of product by container to delivery and shipment tracking.
Said Jeon Dae-jin, CEO of Kumho Tire: “We are delighted to have our own dedicated European warehouse. We chose to partner with Fiege Logistics in order to be able to offer the best possible service to our customers. The new facility will not only allow us to further expand our mainstream business activities, but also serve the smaller dealerships from now on.”
Added Felix Scherberich, Managing Director of Industry & Tyres at Fiege Logistics: “Regarded as the leading tyre logistics concern within Europe, our company operates from a range of locations to deliver tyres on a daily basis on behalf of a number of well-respected tyre manufacturers, and are delighted to now be supporting Kumho’s growth strategy for central Europe.”
