NEW DELHI – Prices of wheat fell at Indore in Madhya Pradesh and Kota in Rajasthan today, while those of maize were steady across the country, traders said.
* WHEAT prices in Indore fell today because of a rise in supply amid steady demand from bulk buyers, a local trader Sachin Agarwal said.
* Arrivals were pegged higher at 1,200 bags (1 bag = 100 kg), from around 1,000 bags on the previous day, another local trader Manoj Kala said.
* In Kota, prices fell due to an increase in supply of the food grain, traders said. Arrivals were pegged at around 4,000 bags (1 bag = 100 kg), from 3,000 bags the previous day.
* MAIZE prices in Bihar’s Purnea were steady as local demand from traders was offset by a rise in supply, a local trader Ghanshyam Yadav said. Arrivals were pegged higher at 15,000 bags (1 bag = 65 kg), from 12,000 bags on the previous day.
* Prices at Davanagere in Karnataka were also steady on a parity in demand and supply, a local trader Shiv Kumar said.
* Prices of BASMATI 1121 PADDY and BAJRA were largely unchanged across markets.
