KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 (Bernama) — The Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (RISDA) is opening two plantations in Cambodia, its director-general Datuk Wan Mohamad Zuki Mohamad said Wednesday.
He said discussions had been held with the companies that would be tasked with managing the plantations last week.
“The Malaysian government has given its approval for the project and we have appointed a consultant for the purpose, including on the setting up of an office there.
“We are now awaiting approval from the Cambodian government,” he told the media after the breaking of fast hosted by the agency in the capital.
Besides Cambodia, he said, RISDA was also looking for opportunities to open its plantation in Mindanao, in the Philippines.
