KOTTAYAM, JULY 26:
Physical rubber prices showed a mixed mood on Friday. According to observers the market activities were in an extremely low key as there were no genuine buyers or sellers on any counter to set a definite trend. Practically not even a single transaction was recorded during late trading hours in the local market. Meanwhile latex and RSS 5 gained marginally amidst scattered transactions.
Sheet rubber closed unchanged at Rs.195.00 a kg according to traders. The grade was flat at Rs.194.50 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi as reported by the Rubber Board.
The August futures improved to Rs.194.00 (191.52), September to Rs.181.85 (180.59), October to Rs.170.50 (170.11), November to Rs.165.25 (165.25) and December to Rs.164.50 (162.99) per kg on National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
RSS 3 (spot) dropped to Rs. 150.31 (152.92) a kg at Bangkok.
The August futures declined to ¥ 246.2 (Rs.147.38) from ¥ 251.2 per kg during the day session and then to ¥ 244.0 (Rs.146.06) per kg in the night session on Tokyo Commodity Exchange.
The spot rubber rates per kg were:
RSS-4: 195.00 (195.00) RSS-5: 190.00 (189.00) Ungraded: 179.00 (179.00) ISNR 20: 179.00 (180.00) and Latex 60%: 166.00 (165.00)
