The NTDA was saddened to hear of the passing of another Master of the Round and Black, former NTDA South and West Wales Regional Chairman Don Baker, who died, peacefully at home on 17th April 2024, with his cherished wife Barbara and loving family by his side.
Don was the owner of Tyreservices Great Britain in Cardiff and was a loyal member of the NTDA for many years. He served as Regional Chairman in 1986 and was actively involved in the Association’s City & Guilds apprenticeship scheme including organising and running evening training sessions for the apprentices.
Speaking of Don, Honorary Life Member Derek Evans, also a former South and West Wales Regional Chairman said: “He was a credit to his company and to all who knew him in South and West Wales”.
Don was the deeply loved husband of Barbara, treasured and much-loved Dad and Father-in-Law to Julie & Chris, and Karen & Darren and idolised Gramps to Thea & Cara, James & Lucy and Harri & Taryn.
The funeral service is on Tuesday 21st May 2024 at Cardiff & Glamorgan Crematorium, Barry 11am prior to cremation.
Immediate family flowers only please. Donations would be welcomed for City Hospice.
Following the funeral, all are welcome to join the family for light refreshments at the Wenvoe Castle Golf Club, to share memories, pay tribute and celebrate Don’s life.
