With over 1,000 guests from across Europe, nine truck races, five drivers, three branded trucks and seven podium finishes, Giti Tire hit all the right numbers at 2024’s Convoy in the Park, Donington.
Across the Saturday and Sunday, partners from big fleet contracts and Giti Dealers travelled from Germany, Greece, Ireland, Scotland, Switzerland and Wales to join more than 100,000 spectators at what is billed as the UK’s biggest truck motorsport event.
On the Giti stand visitors could see the new Giti GSR237EVO and the Giti GDR675EVO, both of which lower the RRC results by one grade from the original Giti GSR237 and Giti GDR675 tyres, as well as a selection of products from the Giti Genesis and Giti van ranges.
The high octane racing was split across two series, starting with Team Oliver Racing and the British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC) where regular drivers Stuart and Michael Oliver continued their drive for the title. They achieved one second place and two third places respectively across five races.
In the International Truck Prix, guest drivers included Isle of Mann TT legend John McGuinness MBE who secured one third place while Martin Gibson, Giti Tire’s Manager – EU Testing Centre and Motorsport UK delivered one second and two third places. BTRC promotor and director, Steve Thomas completed the line-up.
Giti Tire remains the Official Partner and Exclusive Tyre Supplier to the BTRC, with all competition trucks fitted with GitiCompete Race-Tuned v1 competition truck tyres in size 315/70R22.5.
Giti Tire Motorsport activity continues to focus on the manufacturer’s position as global automotive tyre partner of Sparco®, the world’s leading manufacturer of motorsport safety systems and racing equipment, with the Giti – Powered by Sparco® logo appearing across the site.
Convoy in the Park also proved a massive success for the manufacturer across social media with its activation campaign having a global reach.
