The Preston franchise of hydraulic hose giant Pirtek has joined forces with pneumatics expert PCL as a local distributor of its market-leading tyre inflation and compressed air products.
Pirtek Preston, based at Walton Summit, prides itself on providing a swift and convenient air and hydraulics service across Lancashire. The Preston depot has five mobile technicians on the road covering breakdowns 24/7/365.
The company operates a fully stocked trade counter for applications in agriculture, automotive, construction and plant hire and manufacturing.
In order to maintain its reputation for operational excellence, Pirtek Preston requires the best solutions available, therefore Sales Director John Osborne has partnered global brand PCL to supply a portfolio of products, including tyre inflators, couplings, hose reels, airlines and compressors.
John said: “I saw their Area Sales Manager, Michael Dooker, on LinkedIn, describing what PCL can help distributors achieve, and decided to take the plunge and bring the product on to the trade counter so that we could push it forward ourselves.
“We are now stocking a select range of products, predominantly for the transport workshop sector, complete with merchandise stand which is already driving sales and repeat business.”
John continued: “Michael organised product training for the front counter and some supplier days, which were a great success. We took the PCL Demo Van out to see local customers around the Preston area, resulting in orders from 9 out of 10 visits.
“We also had the van outside the depot for a day and Michael provided fantastic support. He interacted with customers, demonstrating products from current stock and educating them on different options we can supply.
“The trade counter was extremely busy, and we’ve had increasing requests for PCL products ever since. We’ve been really impressed.
