ZC Rubber has officially launched new WESTLAKE Gen II truck tyres at the IAA Transportation 2024 in Hanover, Germany. These additions to the WESTLAKE Gen II lineup, tailored for the European market, showcase the company’s commitment to enhancing performance, safety, sustainability, and cost-efficiency for fleets.
A key highlight at IAA was the introduction of the WSL2, WDL2, and WTR2 as a comprehensive, eco-friendly tyre solution for long-haul applications
WSL2 (Long Run/Steer Axle) offers a high saturation pattern to enhance wear resistance and improve mileage. Its hidden circumferential groove and 3D steel sheet technology increase grip and stability. The Ultra Hybrid Formula ensures reduced rolling resistance and lower fuel consumption, making it an efficient choice for long-distance operations.
WDL2 (Long Run/Drive Axle), designed for durability, features a wider tread and high saturation pattern for extended mileage and improved stability. Its multi 3D steel plate design enhances traction, while the advanced tread compound lowers rolling resistance, offering cost-effective, fuel-saving benefits for fleet managers.
WTR2(All Routes/Trailer Axle), which has been on the market for over a year, continues to excel as a trailer tyre with an A-grade rolling resistance rating on the EU Tyre Label, offering leading mileage and sustainability for trailers and semi-trailers. Together, these three tyres provide substantial cost savings for fleet operators while maintaining exceptional performance.
In addition to this tyre solution, ZC Rubber also launched the WAM2 (Mixed Terrain/All Axle), a multi-service tyre designed for both on and off-road operations. The WAM2 features three zigzag main grooves and a high saturation tread pattern, improving wear resistance, preventing stone drilling damage, and extending vehicle mileage. With its Ultra Hybrid Formula, the WAM2 significantly reduces rolling resistance, boosting fuel efficiency and durability.
These new tyres incorporate cutting-edge designs and striking appearances, emphasising energy efficiency and environmental friendliness. The Ultra Hybrid Formula minimises rolling resistance, while the latest Pre-strain Contour Theory (PSCT) reduces tyre profile deformation, leading to less uneven wear and greater durability. Each tyre is also equipped with Belt-Wrap Technology (BWT), offering superior resistance to rolling damage, extended tyre life, and guaranteed stability and safety, providing operators with peace of mind for long-haul applications.
“These tyres set a new benchmark for sustainability and efficiency in the commercial vehicle tyre sector, enabling European fleets to reduce costs and maximise operational efficiency,” said Mr. Leo Liao, Sales Director Europe of ZC Rubber. “Our commitment to reducing environmental impact through innovative design is reflected in this latest range of products.”
The event also marked 10 years of successful partnership between ZC Rubber and Pneuhage, a leading distributor of WESTLAKE tyres in Europe. Mr. Robin Brucke, Head of Product Group Management Commercial Pneuhage Group, expressed high satisfaction with the market launch and customer response to the WESTLAKE Gen II range. “The WESTLAKE Gen II products are market-oriented and deliver noticeable improvements in rolling resistance without sacrificing other key performance attributes. We are thrilled with ZC Rubber’s accomplishment and proud to offer these exceptional products to our customers at a highly competitive price point,” Brucke said.
