Toyo Tires is proud to be a leading sponsor of the 41st All Japan Cycling Championships BMX Racing, taking place at Oizumi Ryokuchi in Kita-ku, Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, on the weekend of the 12th and 13th of October.
BMX competitions are split into two main categories: “race,” where participants vie for finishing order on a challenging course, and “freestyle,” where athletes perform tricks within a time limit, judged on originality and difficulty. Racing became an official Olympic event at the 2008 Beijing Games, while freestyle debuted at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Both disciplines were featured at this year’s Paris Olympics, highlighting their growing prominence in the world of extreme sports.
This tournament represents the pinnacle of BMX racing in Japan and serves as a qualifying event for the world championships. Cyclists from across the nation will compete for the title of Japanese champion.
Toyo Tires has been a proud supporter of this tournament since 2018 and has been the top sponsor since 2019, aiming to empower BMX athletes as they take on the global stage. Additionally, three members of GAN TRIGGER, Japan’s first professional BMX team backed by Toyo Tires—Yoshimura Ikkan, Shimada Ryo, and Nishimura Neneka—are set to participate.
Similar to last year, there will be a BMX experience zone at the venue, offering newcomers a chance to discover the thrill and excitement of the sport.
Through their sponsorship, they are committed to supporting elite athletes and contributing to the growth of BMX racing.
