Rating of “exemplary” for the new Hankook Ventus evo in the Auto Bild comprehensive summer tyre test (6 March 2025 edition). This was the conclusion for the premium tyre, which was pitted against 51 other tyres in the popular 225/40 R18 size for sporty compact models in the major tyre comparison. Right from the preliminary round, all candidates had to perform to their best for one of the coveted places in the final. Only the 20 models with the best braking characteristics in the dry and wet made it through to the final round.
Comprehensive test procedure in the dry and wet
The Hankook Ventus evo proved itself the best in class in the probably most important and most safety-relevant “wet braking” individual category by bringing the test vehicle a stop from 62.1 mph after just 42.7 metres. By comparison, the last place finalist needed 50.5 metres to stop, while the lowest-scoring tyre in qualifying needed a full 68.1 metres. The Venus evo also underlined its excellent qualities in the wet in the “circular track” and “handling” individual rankings, never finishing out of the top three.
The premium summer tyre from Hankook also shone in the dry, and secured first place in the “handling” individual ranking. In all other tests, the Ventus evo was consistently among the top ten.
Conclusion of the Auto Bild test jury: “Impressive driving dynamics with safe handling and short braking distances in all weather conditions, good mileage, good cost performance.”
The “exemplary” test result is further proof of the high all-round qualities of the Hankook Ventus evo, which, like its predecessors, is also the first choice of original equipment for many vehicle models right from the market launch.
