Giti Tire Motorsport is upping the revs for the 2025 British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC) as it maintains its winning position as Exclusive Tyre Supplier and Team Oliver Racing principal sponsor.
This season also sees the heralded return of Martin Gibson, Giti Tire’s Manager – European Test Centre who gets behind the wheel with both Stuart and Martin Oliver in a three truck Giti-liveried line-up.
Gibson, who competed from 2019 to 2021, made a significant impact with multiple podium trips and a third-place overall finish in his final season. After stepping away from the sport to pursue other motorsport opportunities, Martin will take control of Team Oliver Racing’s #101truck.
This year marks Giti’s seventh sponsoring Team Oliver Racing and fourth as Exclusive Tyre Supplier, with all competition trucks fitted with GitiCompete Race-Tuned v1 truck tyres in size 315/70R22.5.
Beyond providing high-performance tyres, the manufacturer will also have a presence at each meeting with their dedicated race support team offering every team assistance with tyre fitting and expert advice.
The seven meeting season starts at Brands Hatch on April 19 and 20 and includes Convoy in the Park, Donington in August and Le Mans in September.
This year’s Giti Tire Motorsport activity will be underpinned with its co-branding agreement as global automotive tyre partner of Sparco®, which is based upon the companies’ shared philosophies and values of ‘racing, performance, research and development and continuous safety.”
Gibson said: “I am very excited to be returning to Team Oliver Racing. I have competed in plenty of different championships but nothing quite matches the excitement of British Truck Racing.
“We take everything we learn from our global truck motorsport involvement from the racetrack to improve our everyday truck and bus tyre portfolios, and what better way than taking the tyres to their absolute limits and being able to feedback first-hand my thoughts and experiences.”
Stefan Brohs, Marketing Director – Europe for Giti Tire, added: “Throughout our marketing programmes consistency is key, and our long-term partnerships with Team Oliver Racing and the BTRC has been nothing but positive for our truck and bus operations.
“At each meeting we realise great interaction with fleet owners and their teams, truck drivers and enthusiasts, and our customers have given us nothing but positive feedback from their own experiences at races and out on the road.
“2025 promises to be extra special with the return of Martin in the cockpit of #101, and no doubt this will be illustrated in the extensive coverage we receive through TV, socials and print.”
