Oct 7 (Reuters) – India’s natural rubber imports tripled to 45,581 tonnes in September from a year earlier, the state-run Rubber Board said on Monday, as tyre makers increased purchases from overseas to gain from lower prices there.
The country’s production eased nearly 5 percent on year to 78,000 tonnes, the Board said in a statement.
India, the world’s fourth-biggest producer of natural rubber, also imports it from Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.
