Nov 18, 2012 (LBO) – A delegation of rubber industrialists who visited Norway are expecting an expansion of business including the development of new products, Sri Lanka’s Ceylon Chamber of Commerce said.
A delegation from the Sri Lanka-Norway Business Matchmaking Programme (BMMP) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce had participated in 34 meetings in Oslo during a week long visit are expecting business to develop from half of them.
“Keen interest was shown by the Norwegians for mats and flooring, domestic and industrial gloves, trolley wheels and solid tyres, technical Rubber products for the oil, construction, railway and marine industries,” the Ceylon Chamber said in a statement.
“One of the Norwegian Companies which has decided to develop an innovative product for the Railroad industry is expected to visit Sri Lanka early next year.”
The visit has opened the doors to the technical Rubber products market in Norway and are confident that they could meet the stringent standards in the oil and marine industries.
“Norwegian companies were also much impressed with the range and innovative new products in the industrial glove sector.”
Saiffudin Jafferjee (Jafferjee Bros(Pvt) Ltd ), Mahesha Ranasoma (Dipped Products), Wasantha Abeysirigunawardana, Dhammika Wijeratna (Richard Pieris Exports), Lalith Jayawardena (Samson International), Irshan Jayah (Elastomeric Eng. Co), Raj Fernando (Polymer Products) had been in the delegation.
