KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 4 — Malaysian rubber prices closed higher today on renewed buying interest after recent losses, dealers said.
A dealer said demand for the commodity was also boosted by the tight supply condition due to the wet weather in the country.
At noon, the Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 rose eight sen to 725 sen a kg, and latex-in-bulk added 1.5 sen to 525.5 sen a kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 gained four sen to 726 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk was unchanged at 525 sen a kg.
The market will be closed tomorrow for the Awal Muharram public holiday and resumes trading on Wednesday. — Bernama
