Rubber prices closed mixed today in a quiet market on mild buying interest, a dealer said.
He also said most traders had remained on the sidelines awaiting the US third quarter Gross Domestic Product data due for release later today, for a finger on the pulse of the world’s biggest economy, before participating actively in the market.
At noon, the Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 rose two sen to 726 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk shed 1.5 sen to 522 sen a kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 gained six sen to 728 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk slipped half sen to 521.5 sen a kg.– Bernama
