KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian rubber prices closed higher yesterday in line with the Tokyo Commodity Exchange, which rose 2.4 per cent to its highest level in two months, dealers said.
The demand for local rubber received a boost due to the protest in Bangkok.
At noon, the Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 jumped 11.5 sen to close at 752.50 sen per kg while latex-in-bulk gained five sen to 518 sen per kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 increased six sen to 752.50 sen per kg while latex-in-bulk rose four sen to 519 sen per kg.
