Rubber prices closed mixed today in a quiet market on low-buying interest, a dealer said.
He said the inconsistencies in rubber prices were due to the weaker ringgit against the dollar and influenced by the Tokyo Commodity Exchange’s trend predominantly focused on profit-taking.
At noon, the Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade Standard Malaysian Rubber (SMR) 20 fell 2.5 sen to 750 sen a kg and latex-in-bulk gained one sen to 519 sen a kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 dwindled six sen to 746.5 sen a kg while latex-in-bulk rose half-a-sen to 519.50 sen a kg.– Bernama
