KUALA LUMPUR: Rubber prices closed mostly higher in quiet trading yesterday in tandem with the uptrend in the Tokyo Commodity Exchange, said dealers.
A dealer said traders stayed on the sidelines in the absence of fresh catalysts.
At noon, the Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for SMR 20 was unchanged at 745 sen a kg while latex in bulk rose 4.5 sen to 542 sen a kg.
The unofficial sellers’ closing physical price for t SMR 20 increased nine sen to 751.5 sen kg and latex in bulk added 5.5 sen to 545 sen a kg.
