WASHINGTON (Dec. 12, 2013) — Bridgestone Americas is recalling a small number of tires because of possible cracks at the inner liner splice.
The tire maker told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) the recall will cover H300 315/80R22.5 18-ply tires. Bridgestone said these tires were sold entirely in Guam.
The 36 tires were manufactured between January 2012 and August 2013, Bridgestone said. The inner liner splice cracks could penetrate the tires’ sidewalls, resulting in sidewall bulges and tire deflation.
Bridgestone will begin notifying tire owners in December and replace the tires free of charge. Meanwhile, tire owners may call Bridgestone at 617-633-3026.
