Spot rubber finished weak on Saturday.
The market opened steady; but declined later on buyer resistance amidst extremely dull volumes. The trend was mixed.
Sheet rubber dropped further to Rs 160 (Rs 161) a kg at Kottayam and Kochi, according to traders and the Rubber Board.
The grade was quoted weak at Rs 157 (Rs 158) a kg by dealers.
FUTURES IMPROVE
January futures improved marginally to Rs 158.80 (Rs 158.61), February to Rs 161.25 (Rs 161.06), March to Rs 164.25 (Rs 163.73) a kg while the April, May and June futures remained inactive on the National Multi Commodity Exchange.
Spot rubber rates Rs/kg: RSS-4: 160 (161); RSS-5: 152 (154); Ungraded: 147 (149); ISNR 20: 158 (158) and Latex 60%: 125 (125).
