Physical rubber prices were almost steady on Monday. The market activities were in an extremely slow pace in most counters following an almost similar closing on NMCE. Meanwhile latex (60% drc) improved sharply on fresh buying prior to off season.
In the global scene, Tokyo rubber futures fell on the news that the stockpiles in China expanded to a nine-year high raising concern that the demand from the largest consumer would be weak.
Sheet rubber finished unchanged at Rs.160.00 per kg at Kottayam and Kochi according to traders and the Rubber Board. The grade was quoted flat at Rs.157.00 per kg by dealers. The trend was mixed.
In futures, the January contracts improved to Rs.160.00 (158.84), February to Rs.162.70 (161.34), March to Rs.165.40 (164.17) and April to Rs.167.50 (167.68) per kg while the May and June contracts remained inactive on National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
RSS 3 (spot) flared up to Rs. 157.72 (154.03) per kg at Bangkok. The January futures declined to ¥ 271.0 (Rs. 161.58) from ¥ 279.8 per kg during the day session and then to ¥ 270.5 (Rs.161.28) per kg in the night session on Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM).

ISNR 20: 158.00 (158.00)

Latex 60%: 129.00 (125.00)
