Rubber prices ended higher today on a further weakening of the ringgit against the US dollar, said a dealer.
The dealer said the uptrend was also in tandem with prices on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange, resulting from a weaker yen.
At noon, the Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 added 8.55 sen to 647.00 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk edged up 6.5 sen to 472.00 sen a kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 inched up 3.5 sen higher at 646.50 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk was up 5.5 sen to 474.50 sen a kg.– Bernama
