KUALA LUMPUR: Rubber prices ended higher yesterday, despite the tight supply due to low production season and further weakening of the ringgit against the US dollar.
A dealer said the price uptrend was also in tandem with that of the Tokyo Commodity Exchange.
The Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR20 added one sen to 648 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk edged up 5.5 per cent to 477.50 sen per kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR20 was 0.5 sen lower at 646 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk increased five sen to 479.50 sen a kg.
