Domestic rubber prices improved on Wednesday. Traders were optimistic about the outcome of the Cabinet meeting which is expected to take measures on rubber procurement.
According to sources, the absence of sellers kept the market firm during late trading hours. The trend was partially mixed and volume low.
Sheet rubber improved to ₹146 (₹145) a kg at Kottayam and Kochi, according to traders and the Rubber Board. The grade firmed up at ₹143 (₹142), according to dealers.
March futures recovered to ₹147.40 (₹145.23), April to ₹151.11 (₹149.59), May to ₹154.51 (₹153.03), June to ₹155.61 (₹154.21) and July to ₹157.50 (₹155.15) on the National Multi Commodity Exchange. RSS 3 (spot) closed at ₹133.04 (₹133) at Bangkok. March futures closed at ¥215.4 (₹130.54) on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange.
Spot rubber rates (₹/kg) were: RSS-4: 146 (145); RSS-5: 144.50 (143); Ungraded: 141(140); ISNR 20: 143 (143); and Latex 60%: 120 (120).
