NEW DELHI – Prices of mustard in Rajasthan’s Jaipur market rose, while that of soybean in Indore, the benchmark market in Madhya Pradesh, fell today, traders said.
* In Jaipur, MUSTARD was sold for 7,125 rupees per 100 kg, up 125 rupees from Saturday. Arrivals were pegged at 750,000 bags (1 bag = 84 kg), against 400,000 bags from the previous day.
* Prices were supported by strong demand from both domestic and international stockists, driven primarily by supply concerns regarding sunflower oil from the Russia-Ukraine corridor, a trader with Manishankar Oils said.
* SOYBEAN in Indore fell marginally today because of weak demand from stockists, traders said.
* The oilseed was sold at 7,500-7,700 rupees per 100 kg, down 300 rupees from the previous day. Arrivals were pegged at 800 bags (1 bag = 100 kg), unchanged from Friday, said N.K. Aggarwal, a local trader.
* Farmers at large are bringing less produce to the market since they are left with lower inventories as the season for the oilseed nears its end, Aggarwal said. End
