KUALA LUMPUR: Rubber prices on the Malaysian rubber market closed slightly higher today on concerns of reduced supply following drought in main rubber growing countries, said a dealer.
The dealer said higher rubber prices in local market was also in tandem with Tokyo Commodity Exchange.
At noon, the Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR20 and latex-in-bulk gained 1.5 sen each to 639 sen and 493.5 sen respectively.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR20 edged up 0.5 sen to 639 sen and latex-in-bulk was 2.5 sen higher at 495 sen a kg.– Bernama
