KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian rubber prices closed lower for the fourth consecutive day on further strengthening of the ringgit against the US dollar and concerns over the supply glut of the soft commodity, a dealer said.
He said the easier local market was also in tandem with the downtrend on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange.
At noon, the Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 fell 9.5 sen to 585 sen a kg while latex-in-bulk was three sen lower at 490 sen a kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 dipped 10 sen to 578.5 sen a kg while latex-in-bulk fell 6.5 sen to 483.5 sen a kg.– Bernama
