Spot rubber prices finished weak on Friday. Sharp declines in the global trend setters and the absence of buyers in the local trading houses took the steam out of the market.
Sheet rubber declined to ₹145 (147) a kg, according to traders and the Rubber Board. The grade dropped to ₹142 (144), as reported by the dealers. April contracts improved to ₹142.70 (141.37), May to ₹145.30 (143.63) while the Rubber Mini May contracts firmed up to ₹145 (143.71) a kg on the National Multi Commodity Exchange. RSS 3 (spot) slipped to ₹136.84 (137.34) at Bangkok. April futures declined to ¥219 (₹129.88) a kg on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange. Spot rubber rates (₹/kg): RSS-4: 145 (147); RSS-5: 141 (143); Ungraded: 135 (137); ISNR 20: 137 (138) and Latex 60 per cent: 119 (119).
