KUALA LUMPUR (April 30): The Malaysian rubber market closed mixed today, despite the higher closing on benchmark Tokyo Commodity Exchange on weaker yen, a dealer said.
He said that the local market was quiet today compared to yesterday, as the ringgit strengthened against the US dollar.
“The trend today was also in tandem with Shanghai Futures Exchange,” he said.
At close, the Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 rose two sen to 563 sen a kg at noon, while latex-in-bulk remained at yesterday’s 451 sen a kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 was 3.5 sen lower to 560 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk added 0.5 sen to 451.5 sen a kg.
