KUALA LUMPUR (May 7): Malaysian rubber prices continued to trend lower due to lacklustre demand for the commodity, on the back of a stronger ringgit, a dealer said.
He said China’s negative manufacturing data for April dampened buying sentiment.
The Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 fell nine sen to 536.5 sen a kg at noon, while latex-in-bulk was unchanged at 456 sen a kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 decreased 4.5 sen to 536.5 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk shed one sen to 455 sen a kg.
