KUALA LUMPUR (May 29): Malaysian rubber prices ended lower today, on the back of a strengthening of the ringgit, dealers said.
The ringgit is currently hovering at the 3.21 level against the US dollar and in sync with the strengthening regional currencies, lead by the yuan.
Most participants were also on the sidelines, in the absence of fresh leads, a dealer said.
The Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 fell 78.0 sen to 542.0 sen a kg at noon, while latex-in-bulk lost 36 sen to 463.5 sen a kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 decreased 77.5 sen to 539.0 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk slipped 35.0 sen to 463.5 sen a kg.
