US propane and propylene stocks rose 1.8 million barrels to 70.3 million barrels, reaching a 20-month high for the reporting week ended August 8, Energy Information Administration data showed Wednesday.
The last time US stocks were higher was during the reporting week of December 7, 2012, when it reached 71.2 million barrels.
The stock build for the comparable week of 2013 was only 25,000 barrels.
The build was 124% higher than the previous five-year average for the comparable week.
Gulf Coast stocks increased by 1.3 million barrels last week to 38.7 million barrels.
Midwest stocks rose 510,000 barrels to 23.4 million barrels.
Atlantic Coast stocks declined by 84,000 barrels to 5.4 million barrels.
US stocks of propylene for nonfuel use decreased by 59,000 barrels week on week to 4.1 million barrels.
Total imports during the reporting week increased by 59,000 b/d, to 115,000 b/d.
