KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian rubber market closed slightly higher today on further weakening of the ringgit, a dealer said.
He said the local rubber price also tracked the uptrend in Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) as firmer Japanese equities and a weaker yen boosted sentiment.
At the close, the Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 earned 0.5 sen to 513 sen a kg while latex-in-bulk eased 2.0 sen to 417.50 sen a kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 added 1.0 sen to 513.50 sen a kg while latex-in-bulk slipped 0.5 sen to 417.5 sen a kg.– Bernama
