Aug. 25 — Growers across Thailand to write to newly-appointed Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha, urging him to suspend plans to sell rubber from stockpiles, says Sangwern Tuadhoy, president of Thai Rubber Growers Network.
* Letters to be submitted tomorrow through provincial governors, Sangwern says by phone from Rayong today
* This is not the right time to sell stockpiles as it’s peak production season, says Sangwern, whose network has more than 100,000 members. It should have been done in February or March when trees yield less latex.
